The project “Astra Bioplant” begins in 2007 with the planning and building of modern plant for production of vegetable oils and biodiesel. It complies with all rules and requirements of the European Community. The Company begins its activity in 2009. The production installation affords reaching annual capacity of 60 000 tons biodiesel.

Quality Policy

ASTRA BIOPLANT EOOD is a modern factory for manufacture of biodiesel fuel, refined and unrefined oil, free fatty acids, glycerine and oil meal.

Location

The plant is strategically located on the river Danube near Danube Bridge so that the production may be easily supplied as to Bulgarian as well as to Romanian customers and also to be exported on the river Danube to Western European destinations. The production capacities are located 20 kilometers east of the town of Ruse, 5 kilometers away from the river Danube and 9 kilometers away from Port Bulmarket. The port is equipped for operation with liquid and bulk cargoes as well as with railway terminal

Strategy

The plant “Astra Bioplant” is located in region where are yielded oleaginous seeds which meet completely the requirements for raw materials, necessary for the production. The company works with signed contracts with local and foreign manufacturers for the raw materials needed for the production.

Effectiveness

The company successfully realizes its products as at the local as well at the foreign market. It has built stable partnership relations with customers from the Balkans, and also with partners from Italy, Austria, Germany.
